Who are the sleep coaches?
BetterSleep coaches provide coaching services to the BetterSleep community.
They are professional coaches who are independent contractors with a broad
range of backgrounds, such as holding degrees in a psychology-related field or
certifications from an NBHWC-approved program, and experience in behavioral
coaching with a focus on sleep-related issues. All of our coaches are committed
to a code of conduct as they provide coaching to help improve your sleep.
How does coaching work for sleep?
By utilizing their expertise in coaching techniques like motivational interviewing
and SMART goal setting, coaches will work with you to identify the factors
contributing to your sleep challenges. T ogether, you’ll address both positive and
negative habits, and create a tailored plan for lasting behavioral changes that will
help you achieve your sleep goals. Beyond providing valuable guidance, our
coaches serve as accountability partners, supporting your commitment to
developing healthier habits that will enhance your overall wellness.
Can I switch coaches after being matched?
Yes, you can switch coaches at any time. While we aim to match you with the
best coach based on your needs and preferences, we understand that finding the
right fit is essential. If you’d like to try a different coach, simply select “Find New
Coach” via your Sleep Coaching Hub and we’ll help connect you with someone
new.
Is coaching right for me?
Sleep coaching aims to support lasting improvements in sleep, though results
can vary depending on individual circumstances. Your coach will work with you to
create a personalized plan that suits your needs and supports long-term
improvements.
Are coaches healthcare providers?
No, BetterSleep coaches are not healthcare providers. They do not offer medical
advice, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, or other clinical services. Sleep
coaching is a supportive service that complements, but does not replace, medical care. If you suspect you have a medical condition, please consult a qualified
professional immediately.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching and therapy serve different purposes, though both can support your
personal growth. BetterSleep coaches act as accountability partners, helping you
identify your strengths, motivations, and lifestyle changes needed to improve
your sleep and overall well-being. Coaching complements therapy but is not a
replacement for clinical mental health or medical treatment.
How do I interact with my coach?
You’ll connect with your sleep coach through personalized, one-on-one video
sessions. Depending on your subscription tier, you can have up to three sessions
per month. Scheduling is flexible and based on your and your coach’s availability.
How long are the sessions?
Individual coaching sessions are up to 45 minutes in length on all subscription
Can I reschedule or cancel my session after scheduling?
Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your session, but we have a 48-hour
cancellation policy. You may cancel or reschedule anytime up to 48 hours before
your scheduled session. Any canceled or rescheduled sessions must be
scheduled within the corresponding subscription month. Within the 48-hour
window, you cannot cancel but you can reschedule if another session is available
within that 48-hour window.
Can I see my coach multiple times a month?
Yes, you can see your coach multiple times a month by subscribing to a tier that
includes multiple sessions. However, you can only have one session scheduled
at a time. Once you complete your scheduled session, you’ll be able to book the
next one. Keep in mind that your sessions do not carry over to the following
month, so be sure your coach has availability within your subscription month to
use all your allotted sessions.
My scheduled session is coming up, how do I join?
You can join your scheduled session with your coach in a few ways:
Access the video call link provided in your email notification.
Log in to BetterSleep.com, go to your profile, and click “Join Call".
Log in to the BetterSleep app, navigate to your Sleep Coaching Hub or your profile, and tap “Join Call".
I can’t access the session, who do I contact?
If you are experiencing any technical issues with your coaching session please
contact [email protected].
I’m running late for a session, can I still join my session?
Yes, you can join up to 15 minutes into your scheduled session time. We
understand that unexpected things happen. However, we ask that you make your
best effort to be on time to ensure that you and your coach have enough time to
complete an effective session. If you are unable to make your session and it is
within the 48-hour cancellation period, you can attempt to reschedule your
session to another available time within a 48-hour window (subject to your
coach’s availability).
Is there a minimum age for coaching?
Yes. Currently you must be at least 18 year
How do I cancel my sleep coach subscription?
You are able to cancel your BetterSleep coaching subscription at any time via your BetterSleep profile in the “Account” section. Select “Manage” on your sleep coach subscription then select “Cancel subscription” and follow the prompt to cancel your subscription. Your BetterSleep profile can be accessed via the profile icon in the top right corner of the home feed.
